Review: Loud music, mouth fuel Carrot Top's show
Loud, irreverent and funny as hell, Carrot Top's show is as untamed as his shock of red hair.
With props galore, you never know what the popular comedian's going to pull out of his trick bag - but with a pre-show video consisting of animals copulating, you know it's not going to be mild.
No topic is off-limits to Carrot Top. The drug problems of Whitney Houston" He's made a microphone with attached bong. The Bush twins' affection for the sauce" How about a textbook flask.
Although his jokes may seem mean-spirited, they're all in good humor (You thought I'd say good taste" Not likely). Nonetheless, they're all funny.
Take the reversible jacket for Puff Daddy that doubles as prison wear. The Dick Cheney "Operation" game. Or the Mark McGuire baseball bat, hollowed out for steroids. Yes, Carrot Top is an
equal-opportunity offender and no one emerges unscathed.
Who else would bring you Metallica singing Britney Spears" Or the B-52s as Metallica"
Even Vegas is a target, as Carrot Top imitates the fountains at Bellagio with spritzer bottles and uses a blue light and blow-up doll to mock "Mystere." And every time he speaks about walking
through the MGM Grand, the Proclaimers' "I'm Gonna be (500 Miles)" blares.
The comedian is also a master of facial contortions, which were crucial in his homage to the redneck. As he pulled props from a special "redneck" trunk, Carrot Top demonstrated the use of a
Breathalyzer phone, John Deere graduation cap and scenes from the show "Cops."
This was surpassed in laughs only by the "rock" trunk in which the frenetic comedian quickly morphed from Michael Jackson to Bono to Steven Tyler.
Many of Carrot Top's props are ripped right from the headlines, so its possible each night may feature different bits.
Carrot Top's show is one wild ride. Each time the sirens scream, you'll wonder if he's being taken in for offending good taste, but you'll laugh in spite of yourself.
