Tuscany Golf Club, the latest Ted Robinson design, opened in the spring of 2003. It's bound to be one of the most talked about courses in the Vegas area for years to come. The par 72 course in Henderson
features 68 white sand bunkers and enough water to challenge even the best golfers. Greens of Penlinks Bentgrass are receptive to shots. The fairways and tee boxes are grassed with 419 Tiff Bermuda.
The final hole of each nine should leave a lasting impression of this unique layout. The 9th, a dogleg left, par 4,
has water on the left side and two bunkers on the right. And that's just off the drive. The green is guarded with
water in the front, on the left and behind, as well as bunkering on the right. It's a great test for golfers as they make the turn.
The grand finale, the 18th, is one of the most demanding holes around the Vegas valley. A good tee shot is
required on this 440-yard hole that usually plays into a prevailing breeze. Even with a great shot, golfers will still
be faced with a daunting second shot: A long-iron into an island green. A waterfall to the left offers a calming
view, but the green itself is intimidating. Many players will still be forced to lay up with their second shot, hoping
to get up and down for a par. Four here is a solid way to end the round, but that's no guarantee. What is guaranteed is a challenging round on a nicely-designed course.

Two other holes also highlight the round. The 6th hole is a reachable par 5 playing to 536 yards from the tips.
But beware: bunkers left and right guard a fairway that is just six yards wide, about the width of five golf carts.
A drive of 270 yards is required to carry the bunkers, so pinpoint accuracy is a must. It's a three-shot hole that
tests the will and courage of golfers. The 16th is a driveable par 4 at 299 yards, but again there is plenty of risk
involved. Deep bunkers flank both sides of the green and another bunker awaits behind and to the left.
This course offers plenty of opportunities for birdies provided golfers are realistic of their skills and choose the right set of tees.
